PG Podcast - Episode 29 - Jean Hsu on engineering leadership consulting
June 2017 (perspective of an assistant professor)
Jean Hsu (@jyhsu) is an engineering leadership consultant who is passionate about sharing her people-centric leadership style with teams from small start-ups to larger companies. Before making the move into coaching and consulting, she was at Medium for over five years, doing everything from building the initial prototype, tech leading product teams, and engineering management. Jean has also worked at Pulse building the Android app, and at Google working on the payments platform and experimental payments apps. She lives in Berkeley with her husband, two kids, a dog, and a cat.
I first knew about Jean's work back around 2012 from reading her blog ... it's taken me five years to go from being an online fan to chatting with her for the first time here! In this PG Podcast, we discuss Jean's professional journey over the past decade starting as a software engineer fresh out of college, then transitioning to being an engineering manager, and now becoming an engineering leadership consultant.
