PG Podcast - Episode 1 - Mitchell Gordon on why he decided to pursue a Ph.D.July 2016 (perspective of an assistant professor)
Mitchell Gordon recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Rochester and is about to start a Ph.D. program in computer science at Stanford (exactly ten years after I started!). While I was a professor at Rochester, he worked with me on research that led to the Codepourri paper. In this inaugural PG Podcast, we discuss Mitchell's decision to pursue a Ph.D. rather than becoming a professional software engineer like most of his college classmates are doing, and his advice for students who want to consider going down this path.
